Abolitionist Academy at Soulfest:

The Abolitionist Academy takes you through the challenges of modern-day slavery and the Christian response. Through three informative and inspiring presentations attendees will come to know the faithful response to end the modern-day slave trade. Upon completing all three workshops attendees will emerge with a deeper understanding of how, as a soul-connected individual, they can become a backyard abolitionist. Together, United in Christ, we can Re-abolish Slavery.

Modern-Day Slavery: The Inspiration

David Batstone, President of the Not For Sale Campaign, shares how he became an abolitionist, first finding slavery at his favorite restaurant and then traveling the world to understand how human trafficking operates. He will provide insight into the modern-day slave trade and discuss what backyard abolitionists are doing across the United States to save captives.

Survey Says…Christians Need Change: Reflection and Response

Followers of Christ are challenged to live differently by faithfully engaging in the work of modern-day abolition. Specifically, the program looks at how we can “relate”, “buy”, “work”, and “play” differently to enrich our soul and help create a world that is free of slavery. We must stand and walk with the 27 million enslaved.

Becoming a Backyard Abolitionist: Prophetic Action

Every year an estimated 17,000 individuals are trafficked into the United States to work as indentured servants, bonded laborers, and sex slaves. Not For Sale will equip attendees with tools to begin to know and confront the trafficking that occurs in their own area. It is time to combat human trafficking in our backyards and save those who are enslaved.
